HAVE A GO - Fastest Recall Competition!
This is your chance to show off your bond with your furry friend while having a blast competing against other dog-loving duos. The Fastest Recall showdown kicks off at 1pm and 3pm each day with registration at the Fastest Recall Station 20 minutes before the competition starts.

Get ready to witness some awesome action at the Gundog Exhibition during Dogitude on May 24th and 25th, 2025! Joining us this year will be:

Have A Go Scurry
What is Scurry?
A scurry is a competitive event where dogs chase after a mechanical lure. This exciting activity showcases their natural instincts for pursuit and agility. We will have a scoreboard on the day, recording the best times, and remember it’s just for fun!
25 Acre Off-Lead Park
Located directly across from our Pond Field
Come unleash the excitement at our Off-Lead Park, conveniently located just across from the Pond Field.
Let your furry friend roam and romp to their heart’s content in our spacious paddock spanning over 25 acres. It’s the perfect place for dogs to stretch their legs, mingle with new furry pals, and enjoy some off-leash freedom!
Our enclosed paddock ensures safety for all, but we need your help too – please remember to shut the gate behind you when entering and exiting. It’s all about responsible play and paw-some adventures!

Herbert’s Yard
Have A Go at Dock Diving!
Where furry athletes take the plunge to paw-ssibly break records in distance jumping into the refreshing pool waters at Herbert’s Yard! It’s a tail-wagging spectacle where dogs compete to see who can fetch the furthest jump. Watch out for the SPLASH! 🐾🌊


Have A Go Agility at Herberts Yard
Dogitude’s Have A Go Agility area, is the paw-fect spot for your pooch to let loose and discover a world of excitement.
Situated opposite the Health & Wellness stage, this agility area is where the magic happens. Here, pups and their humans can come together to explore and conquer the obstacle course, tail-wagging all the way!
Whether your pooch is a seasoned pro or a first-time explorer, our Have A Go Agility zone offers something for everyone. It’s not just a play area – it’s a chance for your dog to strut their stuff, test their skills, and maybe even uncover a new passion.

Fun Dog Show
Registration will be available on the day at the Fun Dog Show Arena starting from 12 pm, with the first class beginning at 1 pm. Last year, we featured six exciting categories each day. Rosettes and prizes to be won both days!

From heartwarming acts to jaw-dropping stunts, this arena promises an unforgettable spectacle for all attendees. Our lineup is still in the works, rest assured, the excitement and wonder are guaranteed. Some of last year’s exhibitions were Canicross, Hoopers, Fly Ball, and PG K9 protection dogs exhibitions.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE
- We ask that puppies under the age of 6 months be carried or off the ground.
- This is to protect the puppy, who has not received all of its vaccinations yet and to protect all the other dogs at Pet Fest who could be susceptible to the puppy’s potential diseases.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
On 1 October 2024, a ban on XL Bully dogs began in Ireland. This is the only breed of dog that is currently banned in Ireland. Read more about the ban on XL Bully dogs in Ireland below.
Certain types or breeds of dog are classed as restricted breeds. There are additional rules you must follow if you have a restricted breed of dog. This applies to the following types of dog, as well as strains or cross-breeds of these breeds:
- American pit bull terrier
- English bull terrier
- Staffordshire bull terrier
- Bull mastiff
- Dobermann pinscher
- German shepherd (Alsatian)
- Rhodesian ridgeback
- Rottweiler
- Japanese akita
- Japanese tosa
- Bandog
In Ireland restricted dogs (or strains and crosses of them) must be:
- Kept on a short strong lead (under 2 metres)
- With someone over the age of 16, who can control them
- Muzzled when in a public place
- Wearing a collar with the name and address of their owner, at all times
The rules on muzzling and leashing do not apply to dogs used by the:
- Gardaí
- Dublin Harbour Police
- State Airport Police
- Rescue teams in rescue operations
The rules on muzzling do not apply to guide dogs for the blind.
